Loading... Please wait...Willow is an insightful, intense story of a young girl who loses her parents in a car accident. Being the driver, Willow blames herself for her parents death and begins to self injure to cope with the guilt and loss. In this in-depth novel, we follow Willow through her journey from self injuring, to love, and ultimately through recovery. Julia Hoban herself was not a self injurer, however she offers real and in-depth perspective and insight on the thought processes, feelings, and reasons behind self injuring. While the story does give some detail as to the manner of self injury, it is a compelling, positive novel detailing Willow's recovery. It was read with rave reviews by S.A.F.E. Focus Group in Akron, Ohio. I believe that this is a must read for anyone struggling with self injury, or help understanding someone who self injures.
